Our main story begins in Kardinal Elementary School. In the hallway, a 3rd-grade boy stands alone, tears streaming down his face, as he washes dirt from his hands at the school water fountain. A voice behind him says, “Here you go.”

The boy turned to see his classmate, Toshima, sporting a black eye.
“Those kids pick on everyone new,” Toshima said, handing back a toy truck. “It might be broken, but at least they don't have it.”
“Thanks. I’m Xavier.”
“I know—you told the class earlier. I’m about to play Road Fighter on my phone. Wanna watch?”
Xavier’s eyes lit up. “Oh yeah! I have that on my Switch-Box.”
“Really!?” Toshima grinned. “You gotta play me in a match right after school!”

And so, the two boys quickly became friends, forming a bond as strong as brothers. Years passed, and eventually, Xavier and Toshima embarked on their first day of 6th grade together.

On his first day of 6th grade, Xavier stood at the front of the school building, waiting for the morning bell to ring. Toshima's bus had not arrived yet, so Xavier took out his phone and began watching funny prank videos. He glanced up and saw a group of 8th graders bullying a freshman.

There were no adults in sight. Recalling his own experiences with bullying, Xavier put his phone away and started moving toward the bullies. He was going to make sure that it was at least a fair fight.

However, as he approached, the young 6th grader demonstrated unexpected strength and defended herself by physically warding off the bullies, all on her own!

"That was amazing!" Xavier said excitedly. "How'd you learn to do that!?"
"I have a brother that likes to fight...a lot." said the young girl, "Do you know those guys?"
"No, thank goodness. I'm Xavier. What's your name?" he asked.
"Eliza, but don't call me Liz," she said firmly.

Toshima hopped off the bus. "Dude, that driver took the long way! You just get here too?"
"Nah, my mom dropped me off early," Xavier said. "Meet my friend Eliza; she’s in 6th grade too."
"Friend? I only gave you my name," Eliza teased.
"Ha! You got played, X!" Toshima laughed.
"Shut up. Liz, I thought we were cooler than that," Xavier joked.
"Keep calling me Liz, and we won’t be," Eliza replied. The bell rang, and the three headed inside. They quickly became friends, bonding over fitness and athletics.

They noticed positive changes in their bodies from daily exercise, and the three of them decided to each take up a different sport to learn something new from each other. Now, they're seniors in high school and have continued to stick together throughout the years.

However, they're anxious about what comes next after graduation. Each of them has their own plan that involves leaving the city and each other.

It's during this final year of high school that our trio will discover how their friendship will be the key to protecting the city and its people from an impending danger.
